Toby Boalch - Piano

Birmingham-based pianist Toby Boalch is a familiar face on the scene, having appeared as a sideman with such local heroes as Percy Purseglove, Mike Williams, Chris Bowden and Jonathan Silk, as well as performing and touring with jazz luminaries Jean Toussaint, Mark Nightingale, Andy Panayi and Gene Calderazzo. As a bandleader and composer, Toby recorded and toured with his his sextet in 2013 (featuring Chris Maddock, John Fleming, Richard Foote, Jonathan Silk and Nick Jurd) resulting in his first album 'State of Play'. In 2019 Toby toured his quartet (featuring Brigitte Beraha, Euan Palmer and Nick Jurd), and is now planning the recording of his second album.

Rob Anstey - double bass

A graduate of Birmingham Conservatoire, bassist Rob Anstey has had years of experience playing with some of the finest musicians in the country.  He has performed at numerous festivals with artists such as Mica Paris and Alexander Stewart as well as appearing regularly around London with vocalists Nicola Emmanuelle and Gabrielle Ducomble. He has had a varied career in jazz and theatre performing all over the UK and Europe in venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Centro Cultural de Belém in Lisbon and A-Trane in Berlin. Rob appears on various recordings including Matt Gough's "The Forgotten Fairground" and Alexander Stewart's big band album "I thought about you".

Euan Palmer - drums

Coming from a background studying jazz drums at Birmingham Conservatoire, Euan enjoys playing in settings with improvisation at the heart of the performance or writing process. Regular projects include Young Pilgrims and Dorcha - both with albums released during 2020. Recent highlights have included development of a new live music and video project with Hansu Tori entitled ‘In Search of Common Paradise’, touring with Toby Boalch’s quartet, featuring Brigitte Beraha and a premiere of a project with Aaron Diaz and Anton Hunter: ‘In The Field Remains’.
